Navya Naveli Nanda pens birthday note for nani Jaya Bachchan; calls her the ‘real powerhouse’

It goes without saying that nani and poti relationships are always full of love, warmth and inspiration. Same is the case with Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan grand-daughter, Navya Naveli Nanda. On Saturday evening, the young entrepreneur and podcaster took to Instagram to send advanced birthday wishes to her grandmother, who is celebrating her special day on April 9.

Navya, the daughter of Shweta Bachchan-Nanda, posted a black-and-white picture of actress-politician Jaya, and captioned it: “Happy birthday नानी ❤️ The real powerhouse. The glue that binds us all. I love you!”

Despite belonging to a family of actors, the 25-year-old chose to follow her passion to become an entrepreneur. She is the brains behind a healthcare organisation, and also runs a podcast on Spotify, called What the hell Navya. In which, she is seen indulging in conversations about life and otherwise with her mother and grandmother. 

It isn’t the first time that Navya has expressed her love for Jaya. Even in the past, she has posted pictures of Jaya, showing her love and admiration for her grandmother.

Padma Shri awardee Jaya Bachchan is turning 75 tomorrow. She made her acting debut as a teenager in Satyajit Ray’s 1963 directorial Mahanagar. Following that, the Film and Television Institute of India graduate was appreciated for her performance in films like Guddi (1971), Uphaar (1971), Koshish (1972) and Kora Kagaz (1974). She also worked with Amitabh in several popular movies like Zanjeer (1973), Abhimaan (1973), Chupke Chupke (1975), Mili (1975) and Sholay (1975).
