According to the Hindustan Times, Shweta Bachchan represented her daughter, Navya Naveli Nanda, at an event in Mumbai held for podcasters. At the event, Navya won the award for Best Female Podcaster for What The Hell, Navya!, and Shweta received it on her behalf. While accepting the award, she said, "I am here to represent my daughter, and I am very excited for her and proud of her. I am thrilled to be here to collect the award on her behalf.”

Talking about her daughter's talent, Shweta Bachchan added, “I think it is wonderful; it is a great way of reaching out to people. You can carry it wherever you go; you can listen to it on a train or a bus. I think it is a fantastic and wonderful medium for getting your word across."

It was here that she was asked about Navya Naveli Nanda’s plans to enter Bollywood. Reacting to this, Shweta Bachchan said, “I think you are very well acquainted with the work Navya does, and she has her hands full. I don't think Bollywood is the way to go for her.”
