Malayalam won some awards in some important categories at the National Film Awards 2023. Actor Indrans got the Special Jury Mention for Home, while Vishnu Mohan bagged the award for the Best Debut Film of a Director. In reaction to this, two big Mollywood stars, Mammootty and Mohanlal, have congratulated the winners in their latest social media posts.

Mammootty congratulated all the award winners by separately mentioning the names of Malayalam films like Nayattu, Home, Aavasavyooham, Chavittu, Moonnam Valavu, and Kandittundu. The actor also lauded the achievements of Indrans and Vishnu Mohan and thanked them for making the Malayalam industry proud.

Meanwhile, Mohanlal mentioned Allu Arjun, Indrans, Shahi Kabir, and Vishnu Mohan in his social media post while congratulating all the winners. The actor also complimented the crew of RRR, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, and Home.

The 69th National Awards saw Allu Arjun bag the Best Actor Award for his film Pushpa: The Rise. The film was a big commercial hit, with Fahadh Faasil playing the antagonist. Work on the sequel is underway.
Alia Bhatt (Gangubhai Kathiawadi) shared the Best Actress award with Kriti Sanon (Mimi). Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, helmed by R Madhavan and based on the life of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan, won the Best Feature Film Award.

The Malayalam film Home garnered attention in this edition of awards as it was named the Best Film in Malayalam. Home lead actor Indrans had earlier expressed his dissent on social media after the film failed to win important awards at the Kerala State Film Awards 2022.
