Veteran actor Nassar, recently hit back at rumours about him hanging up his boots and quitting the film industry. Speculations were rife that the veteran actor was planning to take a break from acting to address his health issues. Nassar has now put an end to those rumours with a statement on social media. His PRO shared that he will continue to work in films and dismissed the buzz about him quitting the industry as rumours. “I Will Act Till My Last Breath" - Actor #Nasser. There are rumours about the Actor Quitting Acting. It's Completely Fault❌ He will continue to act in movies. @nasser_kameela @johnsoncinepro — Johnson PRO (@johnsoncinepro) 1656686092000 (sic)," he wrote on his social media page.

In the meantime, Nassar's wife Kameela Nassar, too, wrote on her social media page that the buzz about his ill health, quitting cinema are all untrue. She wrote, "News about Nasser’s health, quitting career (acting), etc..etc.. who ever started this, long live, to spin more stories..on more people.. Nasser eats and breathes cinema.. thanks friends and folks for all the concern. DON'T SPREAD FALSE NEWS (sic)."

Nassar is one of the finest actors of his generation, whose body of work spans across industries- Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The actor made his debut in films with veteran director K Balachander's Kalyana Agathigal in 1985. However, it was his portrayal of a cop in Mani Ratnam's Nayakan that shot him to spotlight. He later became a regular face in many of Mani Ratnam's films, including Roja, Bombay and Iruvar. The actor made his directorial debut with Avatharam, in which starred along with Revathi. Nassar's second son Luthfudeen, too, made his acting debut in AL Vijay's Saivam. He portrayed Nassar's grandson in the film.
