Naresh Agastya on Vikkatakavi: Zee 5 series will keep you hooked till the end

Vikkatakavi is Zee5's new show, set to premiere on November 28, 2024. Directed by Pradeep Maddali, the series stars Naresh Agastya and Megha Akash in the lead roles. Touted as a period thriller, the show has been produced by noted filmmaker Ram Talluri on a lavish budget.

The trailer, launched recently, has garnered praise and won many hearts. Naresh Agastya plays Vikkatakavi, a detective who arrives in a small village where everyone is mysteriously losing their memory due to a hidden secret.

Speaking about the show, Naresh shared that it was the writer, Teja, who brought him on board. "Teja watched a few snippets of my Zee5 series, Paruvu, which was on the floors at the time. He loved my performance and felt I would be a perfect fit for Vikkatakavi. When I heard the story, there was no way I could ignore it—the plot and the thrills are incredibly gripping," said Naresh Agastya.

Vikkatakavi features numerous important characters, and Megha Akash plays one of them. Reflecting on his role, Naresh added, "I initially wanted to play a different character in the series. This particular character has been kept a secret, but the director insisted I play the lead role. That gives you an idea of how crucial every character in Vikkatakavi is."

Naresh Agastya is steadily carving a niche for himself in the OTT space. His performance in Paruvu was widely appreciated, showcasing his acting prowess to a larger audience. Speaking further about Vikkatakavi, he said, "The series features incredible talent and will keep you hooked till the end. Once you start streaming it, you won’t want to pause. The suspense that director Pradeep has crafted is outstanding. The production values, visuals, and backdrop are unique and will offer viewers a fresh experience."
