After being rescheduled several times, Tovino Thomas-led film Naradan will finally hit theatres this year. Director Aashiq Abu took to social media and shared the development with a poster that says the film will be available worldwide from March 3.
Scripted by popular writer Unni R, Naradan has made headlines since it was first announced. Naradan will see Tovino play a journalist who questions his own ideologies after being forced to resort to sensationalism for TRPs. The movie also stars Kerala State Award winner Anna Ben.
The movie was initially set for a theatrical release on January 27, the makers were forced to postpone it due to the pandemic’s third wave. There were speculations whether Naradan would be hit with an OTT platform instead but all those doubts have been put to rest with the latest announcement.
There are several reasons that make Naradan a highly-anticipated Malayalam release of this year. The team is already popular in the Malayalam industry with acclaimed movies like Virus and Mayanadhi. Headliner Tovino recently made the news with Minal Murali where he played a superhero role. The movie first premiered at the Mumbai Film Festival in 2021, after which it was released on Netflix. It broke all viewing records for Malayalam OTT releases and became one of the highest grossing films in the country.
Naradan is backed by the director himself and also features actors like Sharafudheen, Joy Mathew, Vijayaraghavan and Jaffer Idukki in prominent roles.
