Welcome 3 was recently announced but Nana Patekar’s name was missing from the cast of the film. The actor had not spoken about the same till now. He recently spoke about it at the trailer launch of his upcoming film, The Vaccine War. Nana went sarcastic and said that it is probably because the makers think they are old news.

What Nana said

At the recently held trailer launch of The Vaccine War in Mumbai, Nana said, “I am not a part of it, maybe they think hum bahut puraane ho gaye hai (I have become outdated).”

Takes a sly dig

Further, Nana pointed at Vivek Agnihotri and said that the filmmaker doesn’t think he has become so old and thus, he cast him in his movie.

Nana Patekar and The Vaccine War

Nana Patekar was last seen in Rajinikanth’s Kaala. The film released in 2018. He will now be seen in The Vaccine War, helmed by The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri. In the movie, Nana essays the role of former director general of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Balram Bhargava. In the movie, Bhargava was working and dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. The movie is scheduled to release in theatres on September 28.

Nana was iconic with Welcome

Nana Patekar was iconic with the movie, Welcome. He played the role of Uday Shetty in the movie. His dialogue, ‘Control Uday, control,’ is very iconic. He and Anil Kapoor’s Majnu bhai were a deadly combo and they both are missing in Welcome 3 aka Welcome To The Jungle.

Why Nana could be missing from Welcome To The Jungle

Nana Patekar’s name was mired in the #MeToo controversy. All charges were dropped against him owing to lack of evidence. Tanushree Dutta had accused Nana of molesting her on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss. The latter had sent Tanushree a legal notice, asking her to apologize for ‘making false claims’ against him.
