Nagendran’s Honeymoons – Suraj Venjaramoodu gets 1 life and 5 wives in new web series

Disney+ Hotstar has been backing a whole bunch of original content in recent tmes, especially web series in Malayalam, like, for instance, Kerala Crime Files, Master Peace and Perilloor Premier League, and the newest entry is Nagendran’s Honeymoons. Directed by Nithin Renji Panicker of Kasaba and Kaaval fame, the show’s title and first look was revealed today. Led by National Award winner Suraj Venjaramoodu, Nagendran’s Honeymoon also stars Grace Antony, Kani Kusruthi, Shwetha Menon, Alphy Panjikaran and Niranjana Anoop.

Going by the first look poster and the tagline of the show, Nagendran’s Honeymoons is likely about Suraj as Nagendran and his 5 wives. The tagline reads, ‘1 life, 5 wives’. The poster was accompanied with a comment that read, Big dreams, bigger laughs’, hinting that the show will be a rollicking comedy about polygamy.

Incidentally, when this show was first announced, it was meant to be called Madhuvidhu (meaning honeymoon), which has now become Nagendran’s Honeymoons to make it more universally acceptable. The streamer, which began its foray into Malayalam web series with Kerala Crime Files, led by Aju Varghese, followed that up with the Nitya Menen show Master Peace. Thereafter came Perilloor Premier League with Nikhila Vimal and Sunny Wayn in the lead.

1000+ Babies: ‘Rahman, Neena Gupta’s Hotstar Malayalam web series has potential to appeal to audience across world’ 

On its upcoming slate, Disney+ Hotstar has Pharma directed by PR Arun, in which Nivin Pauly will play the lead, along with Narain, Sruthi Ramachandran, Veena Nandakumar and Rajat Kapoor. This is supposed to be a suspense action drama. Then there is Love Under Construction by Vaashi-fame director Vishnu G Raghav, featuring Neeraj Madhav, Aju Varghese and Gouri Kishan in the lead. Yet another upcoming Malayalam web show is 1000+ Babies, directed by Najeem Koya, with Rahman and Neena Gupta in the lead.

The shoot of Love Under Construction was wrapped up earlier this year, so, it is likely to be the next in line after Nagendran’s Honeymoon.
