We had reported earlier that Mahesh Babu and celebrated director SS Rajamouli will be teaming up for a massive project that is tentatively titled SSMB29. The latest buzz is that the film will also star Telugu superstar Nagarjuna in a pivotal role.
The actor, whose last role in the mythological fantasy adventure Brahmāstra: Part One—Shiva won praise from the audience, is set to collaborate on the ambitious project by the RRR director. Although there has been no official confirmation yet, insider information suggests that Nagarjuna will be starring alongside Mahesh Babu in the film, which is touted to be a mythological adventure film.
After the massive success of RRR, SS Rajamouli is back with yet another epic film. Touted to have elements from the Ramayana, SSMB29 is an action flick, according to scriptwriter Rajamouli's father, Vijayendra Prasad. In an interview, Prasad revealed that the film will be a globetrotting action adventure with loads of emotions, like Steven Spielberg's Raiders of the Lost Ark. The writer also revealed that it will have an open-ended climax to explore the possibility of a sequel.
According to reports, the shoot for SSMB29 is set to commence in the summer of 2024, with a grand release in 2025. The film will be released in multiple languages and is also said to feature an ensemble cast.
While the film is currently in its pre-production stage, Mahesh Babu is undergoing physical training in Germany under the guidance of Dr Harry König for SSMB29. The majority of the shoot will take place in the forests of Africa and Europe. Mahesh Babu's character in the film will have traits similar to Ramayana’s Lord Hanuman—strength to survive in difficult conditions in forests.
Overall, the film sounds like a power-packed adventure and we can’t wait to watch it on the big screens.
