Not very long ago, Dhananjaya's home production banner Daali Pictures announced its next venture to be a film titled Tagaru Palya. The announcement came along with a motion poster and a brief introduction to the project that Umesh K. Krupa will come on board as the writer & director and that the principal cast would comprise a good mix of budding talent and debutants.
Well, as per the latest developments, Tagaru Palya will feature Dhananjaya's close associate and personal friend Nagabhushana in the lead role. This will be Nagabhushana's only third outing in the capacity of a male lead and as per reports, the talented actor is kicked about taking on the rather enterprising role written for him. The team of Tagaru Palya plans on taking the film on floors in December, 2022, and is currently on the lookout for locations for the shoot. The same reports reveal that the film's cast will also include veteran actors Rangayana Raghu and Tara who had previously played Dhananjaya's on-screen parents in his debut production venture Badava Rascal.
Director Umesh K. Krupa, who makes his debut with Tagaru Palya, has previously worked as an associate with Yogaraj Bhat and also on films like Rana Vikrama and Jackson.
Nagabhushana, who has previously shown his comedic prowess in films like French Biriyani, Yuvarathnaa, and Badava Rascal, made his debut as a lead in the 2021 straight-to-OTT film Ikkat and followed it up with Made in China. Interestingly, both films are set against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic and the resulting lockdowns but Tagaru Palya, in complete contrast, will boast a rural setting that is quite close to Nagabhushana's own life.
In a recent interview with OTTplay, Dhananjaya shared that he was quite intrigued by the idea of the Tagaru Palya and that he was quite encouraged to bring it to life by working with fresh talent.
