Nadikar OTT release update: Here’s why the streaming of Tovino Thomas starrer is delayed

Nadikar, the comedy-drama film that features Tovino Thomas in the lead role, was released in theatres on May 3, 2024. The Lal Jr directorial was expected to have its OTT release in June 2024, exactly a month after its theatrical release. It was also confirmed that the OTT rights of Nadikar have been bagged by streaming giant Netflix, for a whopping price. However, the OTT release of the Tovino Thomas starrer has been delayed indefinitely, to the disappointment of cinephiles.

Nadikar OTT release delayed due to THIS reason?

If the recent updates are to be believed, the OTT release of Nadikar has been put on hold by Netflix. The grapevine suggests that the popular OTT platform decided to put the streaming of the Tovino Thomas starrer on hold, due to the disagreement with the makers over the streaming rights price. The disappointing box office performance of the Lal Jr directorial, and the negative reviews received by the film have reportedly forced Netflix to reconsider and re-negotiate the deal amount. Nadikar will have its OTT release only after the issue gets resolved.

Tovino Thomas appears in the role of David Padikkal, an irresponsible young superstar, who runs away from the ghosts of his past, in Nadikar. The Lal Jr directorial is scripted by Suvin S Somasekharan. Bhavana plays the role of his ex-girlfriend Ann Bava in the film, which stars Soubin Shahir as Bala, an acting coach. The movie depicts David’s journey from a delusional star to an actor who takes his craft seriously, with a touch of humor.

Suresh Krishna, Balu Varghese, Divya Pillai, Anoop Menon, Maala Parvathy, Althaf Salim, Madhupal, Ranjith, Ganapathy, Dinesh Prabhakar, Lal, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Shine Tom Chacko, Indrans, Manikuttan, Major Ravi, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Abu Salim, and others essayed the supporting roles in the film. Yakzan Gary Pereira and Neha Nair composed the songs and original score. Alby and Ratheesh Raj handled the cinematography and editing, respectively.
