Tamil film lovers have a special liking for the popular Dhanush-Selvaraghavan combination, thanks to the unique theme and presentation they got to enjoy whenever the duo joined hands. Kaadhal Kondein, Pudhupettai and Mayakkam Enna, all three projects for which they teamed up, offered unmatchable experience for them, and they have been eagerly awaiting the release of their latest outing Naane Varuvean which hit the screens today.
Fans of both the actor and the filmmaker have been taking to their respective Twitter handles to share their expectations, happiness and short reviews of the movie which is billed as a suspense thriller.
Going by the tweets of many movie buffs, it looks like the film has a solid interval block. Twitterati can't stop raving about the impressive sequence that appears before the interval. In fact, there are those who opine that this is the best interval sequence for a Tamil movie in recent times.
However, not many are impressed with the latter half of the movie. They feel that the makers should have come up with a better screenplay for the second half, and that it wasn't a good idea to keep the run time of the film to 122 minutes.
Yuvan Shankar Raja's music has been one of the highlights in Dhanush, Selva's previous outings. This time, too, film buffs seem to be satisfied with the little maestro's composition.
This is the first film which has Dhanush appearing in dual roles, and his fans say they couldn't have asked for more. According to them, Naane Varuvean showcases one of the best performances of the talented actor.
With the much-expected big budget film Ponniyin Selvan hitting screens tomorrow, one has to wait and watch to what extent could Naane Varuvean attract audiences to theatres. The movie is Dhanush's fourth outing and second theatrical release this year.
