After a long delay, Anees Bazmee's psychological and action thriller Naam, starring Ajay Devgn in the lead role, is due to hit theatres this summer. The film will be released between May-July. It is being considered for a theatrical or OTT release.

Naam is a psychological drama about a man who ends up losing his memory and sets out on a quest to reclaim his identity. The movie was shot in both Switzerland and Mumbai. After Hulchul, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha and Deewangee, this is Bazmee's fourth collaboration with Ajay.

Anil Roongta, a Gujarat-based real estate tycoon and Bollywood producer, has bought the film and will distribute it under the Roongta Entertainment label.

On Naam, Roongta comments, “Naam is an important film for him since it celebrates the fourth association of Ajay and Anees, following Deewangee, Pyaar toh hona hi tha, and Hulchul. Ajay is a pleasure to work with and he put so much effort into every role he takes on, yet he always appears to be in command on screen!”

Ajay Devgn is currently promoting Runway 34. The actor directs and produces the film, which is his second directorial campaign after 2016's Shivaay.

The movie is based on the real story of Jet Airways Doha to Kochi aircraft 9W 555, a Boeing 737-800 airplane that narrowly escaped disaster on August 18, 2015, after experiencing difficulty landing at Cochin International Airport at 5:45 a.m. This happened owing to awful weather and poor visibility.

The film will be released on April 29 and stars Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Rakul Preet Singh, Angira Dhar and Aakanksha Singh in pivotal roles. It will also mark CarryMinati aka Ajay Negar’s debut in films.

On the other hand, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, directed by Anees Bazmee is due to hit theatres on May 20. It stars Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, Tabu and Rajpal Yadav in the lead roles.
