Naai Sekar Returns: Here's when Vadivelu's most-anticipated comeback film will be released in theatres

Fans of legendary Kollywood comedian Vadivelu were excited when he announced last year that he will be doing films back to back. He had also opened up about the movies he will act under Lyca Productions and expressed his interest to team up with Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth again.

Suraaj's Naai Sekar Returns, a spin off of his Thalai Nagaram which was released in 2016, was announced as his comeback movie, for which he donned the greasepaint after five years. Though the project was initially titled Naai Sekar, another film starring Sathish was announced with the same title.

The makers have now announced the release date of the film. The movie, which is billed as a fun-filled entertainer, will hit the screens on December 9. The first single from the film was unveiled recently, and the team is set to release the second single later today.

Lyca Productions has commenced promotions for the project, and its trailer is expected to be released in the next week. Sivaangi, Anandraj, Shivani Narayanan and Redin Kingsley among others play key roles in Naai Sekar Returns which has music composed by Santhosh Narayanan. Vignesh Vasu and Selva RK have handled cinematography and editing respectively for the film.

The digital rights of Naai Sekar Returns have been bagged by Netflix. Vadivelu's fans have pinned high hopes on the film, though director Suraaj hasn't come up with any impressive works in recent times. They believe that the Vaigai Puyal's presence and effective one-liners are enough to bring the house down.

The veteran actor is also part of Lyca Productions' Chandramukhi 2 which has P Vasu at its helm. The actor's presence in Chandramukhi was one of its much celebrated aspects when the blockbuster film was released in 2005.
