It seems working with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has opened up new possibilities in the world of cinema for director Atlee. The filmmaker is now brainstorming ideas for his next movie, which could surpass his previous movies in terms of scale, scope, star power and budget.
In a recent interview, Atlee opened up about the impact of Jawan on his career and also shed light on his rapport with India's two biggest superstars - Shah Rukh Khan and Thalapathy Vijay.
"I am not very close with anybody else in the industry, except for Vijay sir. Because I have worked only with him. He's my university," Atlee told Gobinath.
He also revealed that he invited Vijay to his birthday party celebration, which coincided with the shooting of an action sequence for Jawan in Chennai. So Shah Rukh Khan also attended the party.
"At the party, Shah Rukh sir told me, 'any day you want to make a dual hero movie, we both are ready.' Vijay anna also said the same. They truly believe that I can handle such a project. I am trying very hard to find something like that. Maybe it could be also my next film. Let's see. I am going to try," Atlee added.
Atlee also revealed that a leading Hollywood studio has approached him to make a movie. "The chase sequence in Jawan was choreographed by Spiro (Razatos). He is the stunt director for the Fast and Furious series from one to ten. And he has taken his friends to watch Jawan and they all liked this movie very much. Following that a major production house contacted me and showed interest in making a film with me," he revealed.
Jawan became one of the biggest box office hits in Indian cinema this year by raking in more than Rs 1000 crore from its global ticket sales. After a blockbuster run in theatres, Jawan became available for streaming on Netflix on November 2, coinciding with SRK's 58th birthday.
