Multifaceted Prabhudeva seems to have become whimsical with his choices as an actor. From leading comedies to adult horror dramas, Prabhudeva has been showing a lot of willingness to experiment as an actor. And now, he's returning to the mainstream by embracing the role of a heroic cop, singlehandedly laying waste to the crime world in his upcoming movie Musasi.
Prabhudeva unveiled the prevue of Musasi, offering us a glimpse of what to expect from the movie. Written and directed by debutant director Sam Rodrigues, the film marks Prabhudeva's return to playing a quintessential mass hero.
The promo video is packed with high-octane sequences showing Prabhudeva channelling his swag that is usually reserved for heroes of the masses. With Slow-motion walks, aviator sunglasses, a stoic face and a few other typical idiosyncrasies, Prabhudeva checks all the boxes of a mass hero.
Musasi went on the floors in 2021 and it has been in an extended period of production for some unknown reasons. Besides Prabhudeva, the movie also stars VTV Ganesh, John Vijay, Master Mahendran, Binu Papu and Leona Leeshoy.
Will Musasi give Prabhudeva the much-awaited break at the box office? Only time will tell.
Prabhudeva has been struggling to strike a chord with the mass audience. His last several films have repeatedly failed to create any impact, both commercially and critically. However, this hasn't stopped him from exploring multiple roles in his career.
Prabhudeva was last seen in the Kannada movie Karnataka Damanaka, where he shared screen space with Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar. The film vanished without making a blip on the box office radar in Karnataka.
Prabhudeva is also part of the cast of Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming movie The Greatest Of All Time. Written and directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film will hit the big screens later this year.
Recently, Prabhudeva also announced another project with a debut director. It's a special project as it marks his reunion with composer AR Rahman after a gap of 25 years.
