Murshid: Kay Kay Menon's thriller series achieves this OTT milestone in a week

Kay Kay Menon's web series Murshid is directed by Shravan Tiwari. The thriller series is premiered on August 30 on ZEE5 (OTTPlay Premium). The gangster drama is set in Mumbai. Apart from Kay Kay, the series stars Zakir Hussain and Tanuj Virwani in pivotal roles. Within one week of its release, the series received a superb OTT milestone. 

Murshid continues to receive love from fans

Sharing a poster of Murshid featuring Kay Kay Menon, ZEE5 shared that the thriller series clocked over 200 million watch minutes within a week of its OTT release. 

The text on the poster read, "Yeh Bambai Ke Badshah Ka Power Hai."

While sharing the update, the streamign platform captioned it, "Dilon se screens tak, har jagah hai Murshid ki hukumat!"

In an earlier official statement, Kay Kay Menon opened up about playing the role of a mafia don Murshid Pathan in the Shravan Tiwari directorial. 

The actor said, "Portraying Murshid Pathan in this intense gangster thriller has been a thrilling experience. I’ve always been fascinated by complex characters."

He also said that Murshid is an ex-don-turned-philanthropist who is forced to return to the world of crime to protect his loved ones. According to him, Murshid is the story of a father's sacrifice for his family.

Fans loved Kay Kay Menon's performance while some are overwhelmed by the story of the series.

Speaking about the story, it follows a retired don Murshid Pathan (Kay Kay Menon) who is forcibly drawn into the gangster life he thought he had left behind. He takes this step when he involves the son of his former rival Farid, played by Zakir Hussain, in a dangerous plan.

Meanwhile, Murshid is streaming on ZEE5 and you can watch it on OTTPlay Premium as well.
