Murshid: Kay Kay Menon fiercely tells 'maut baad mein marti hai, insaan ko pehle dar maar deta hai' | Watch new promo

Kay Kay Menon's web series Murshid received a positive reception from netizens as well as critics. Directed by Shravan Tiwari, the web show premiered recently (August 30) on ZEE5 (OTTPlay Premium). The gangster drama is set in Mumbai. Apart from Kay Kay, the series stars Zakir Hussain and Tanuj Virwani in pivotal roles. Days after the release of the show, a the streaming platform shared a new promo featuring Menon.

Taking to their social media account, ZEE5 shared a promo of Murshid. In the clip, we can see Kay Kay Menon saying that to get the throne, you need to try hard and maintain it and also adding that to get it, there should be bloodshed. He said in Hindi, "maut baad mein marti hai, insaan ko pehle dar maar deta hai" (death kills you later. Fear kills a human first)

Sharing the promo, the streaming platform captioned it, "Rajneeti, siyaasat aur shaasan ko palat deta hai jo, woh hai Murshid Pathan. #Murshid streaming now, only on #ZEE5"

Kay Kay Menon on Murshid character

In an official statement, Kay Kay Menon opened up about playing the role of a mafia don Murshid Pathan in the Shravan Tiwari directorial. The actor said, "Portraying Murshid Pathan in this intense gangster thriller has been a thrilling experience. I’ve always been fascinated by complex characters."

He also said that Murshid is a former don-turned-philanthropist who is forced back into the criminal world to protect his loved ones. During the trailer release, Kay Kay mentioned that it only hinted at the depth of his character's journey. In his opinion, Murshid is the tale of a father's sacrifice for his family.

Several fans loved Kay Kay Menon's performance while some are absolutely overwhelmed by the plot.
