Tanuj Virwani is awaiting the release of his new web series, Murshid. The actor, who was last seen as host for Splitsvilla 15, will be seen as a cop in the ZEE5 show. Tanuj essays the character of police officer Kumar Pratap Rana. He is the adopted son of Kay Kay Menon's character Murshid Pathan. A few days ago, the trailer of Murshid was released. And now, Tanuj has shared an unseen glimpse of his character from the set.

Tanuj Virwani shared an unseen glimpse of his character on his Instagram stories. The actor has his police officer Kumar Pratap Rana's look on in the glimpse. While sharing the picture on his social media handle, Tanuj wrote, "Waiting for Aug 30th (sic)." For the uninitiated, Virwani's series Murshid will premiere on ZEE5 on August 30, 2024. Talking about playing a cop in Shravan Tiwari's series, Tanuj told Mid-Day, "People see me as an urban guy because I typically get such roles. Playing an inspector gave me a [new] perspective on what I aim to achieve as an actor." The actor further revealed working with Kay Kay Menon was at the top of his bucket list.
"My number one reason for saying yes to the project was the fact that Kay Kay Menon was front and centre," added Tanuj. The actor also stated that working with Menon was an acting workshop in itself.

Murshid has been directed by Shravan Tiwari while the series is backed by Sandip Patel and Sachin Bansal. The web show also stars Zakir Hussain, Anang Desai, Karamveer Choudhary, Vedika Bhandari, and Rajesh Shringarpure. Kay Kay Menon plays the character of a mafia don, Murshid Pathan, in the series.
