The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film, MURA, have confirmed an update on its theatrical release. The action drama will hit the big screen on October 18. Following its release last month, the teaser for the film became popular on social media, with many cinema enthusiasts expressing their eagerness to see it in theatres.

MURA raises expectations from action drama fans

Expectations for a distinctive storytelling and acting approach are unavoidably set by the film's young cast, especially in light of recent Malayalam hits like Manjummel Boys and Vaazha: Biopic of a Billion Boys. This film is directed by Muhammad Musthafa, who made his feature film debut with Kappela, which won praise from critics for its narrative as well as performances.

The movie also stars Hridhu Haroon, Maala Parvathi, Kani Kusruti, Kannan Nayar, Jobin Das, Anujith Kannan, Yedhu Krishna, P L Thenappan, Vigneshwar Suresh, Krish Hassan, Siby Joseph, and Alfred Jose in addition to Suraj Venjaramoodu. Hridhu Haroon's Malayalam film debut will be through this action drama. His previous film was Cannes Grand Prix-winning film All We Imagine as Light. Suresh Babu wrote the screenplay, and Fazil Nazer is the cinematographer of MURA. The original soundtrack and score for the movie were composed by Christy Joby. MURA is produced by Riya Shibu.

In the teaser, Suraj's character informs someone that there is cash at a certain place, but since it is black money, they would have to break in covertly to take it. The teaser then cuts to Hridhu and his friends, a group of young people from the area helping Suraj's team get the money without drawing attention from the authorities.

A sequence of captivating and expertly staged action scenes is intercut with Suraj's voiceover declaring, "Let them grow, they are kids after all," to close the clip. The teaser makes it clear that Suraj is portraying a fairly ambiguous character, while Thiruvananthapuram serves as the setting for the narrative.
