Multiple Kannada releases on September 9 to give Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra competition at the box office

One of the big-ticket releases in the second week of September is the pan-India film Brahmastra – Part 1- Shiva, which has a massive ensemble cast including names like Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, among many others. The Hindi film is getting a Kannada-dubbed release as well on September 9, a date on which several original Kannada films will also hit screens.

Natarakshasa Daali Dhananjaya’s Once Upon A Time in Jamaligudda was the first to announce its arrival on September 9. The film, which also stars Aditi Prabhudeva, Yash Shetty and Prakash Belawadi, among others, is about two escaped convicts finding a stowaway child in their get-away car.

Up next is the much-awaited Darling Krishna-starrer Luckyman, which has been more in the news for being the late Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar’s last commercial film. The Kannada remake of the Tamil film Oh My Kadavule, the film, directed by Nagendra Prasad, which also stars Sangeetha Sringeri and Roshni Prakash, has Puneeth in the role of god.

Debutant Sachin Dhanpal’s Champion is also gearing up for a September 9 release as of now. The sports drama about a small-town boy’s struggle to achieve glory, also stars Aditi Prabhudeva in the lead. The film’s highlight is a special number featuring Sunny Leone.

Director S Mahendar’s comeback film, Pampa, has also zeroed in on September 9. Pampa, which stars Keerthi Bhanu, Sangeetha Sringeri, Aditya Shetty, Krishnaa Bhat, among others, is about the struggle of Kannada activists for the language and the motherland.

And finally, there’s 9 Sullu Kathegalu, an anthology of stories based on Navarasa where each story depicts a sentiment. Each story presents a situation and how certain people react to it and stars actors like Sampath Maitreya, Sundar Veena, Pramod Shetty, Krishna Hebbale, Vinayak Joshi, Sukrutha Wagle, among others.
