Mukhachitram OTT release date: When and where to watch Vishwak Sen, Vikas Vasishta, Priya Vadlamani’s film

Colour Photo filmmaker Sandeep Raaj, post his directorial debut, has written a handful of content-driven projects for theatres and OTT, which have received critical acclaim. Mukhachitram was one among his recent releases as a writer. The film, directed by Gangadhar, starred Vishwak Sen, Vikas Vasishta, Priya Vadlamani, Ayesha Khan, Chaitanya Rao, Ravishankar in key roles.

After a brief theatrical run in December 2022, Mukhachitram has finally arrived on OTT. The legal thriller is streaming on two major OTT platforms - aha and Amazon Prime Video. Mukhachitram was hailed for its attempt to address an oft-ignored issue like marital rape and structuring it in the garb of a thriller packed with interesting twists and turns. The film will now test its fortunes among streaming enthusiasts.

Mukhachitram takes off with an eminent plastic surgeon Raj Kumar (Vikas Vasishta) expressing his interest in a girl named Mahathi (Priya Vadlamani) and marrying her later. However, his childhood sweetheart Maya Fernandez (Ayesha Khan) is after Raj as well and paves the way for some serious trouble in the latter’s marital life. Produced by Pradeep Yadav, Mohan Yella under Pocket Money Pictures, the film is presented by SKN and co-produced by Ramya Chowdary, K Vijay Kumar. While Kaala Bhairava has scored the music for the same, Sreenivas Bejugam is the cinematographer and Pavan Kalyan Kodati is the editor. A Vijay has choreographed the action sequences. Ramajogayya Sastry, Kittu Vissapragada, Sameer are the lyricists.

The true advantage of OTT as a medium is how it lets content take the centrestage beyond stars or recognisable faces. Regardless of its theatrical revenue, Mukhachitram, through its release on two major OTTs, has a good chance of grabbing several eyeballs and make its presence felt.
