Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s biopic, The film Mujib: The Making Of A Nation, is set to be released soon. Directed by eminent filmmaker Shyam Benegal, the film features Nusraat Faria as Mujib’s daughter Sheikh Hasina. Popular Bangladeshi actor Arifin Shuvoo portrays the character of Sheikh Mujib.
Generally, Nusraat’s social media posts attract both positive and negative comments. But the comment box about her new film is brimming with best wishes. She released her look as the Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, whose character she is playing in a film.
The film, jointly produced by India and Bangladesh, had its shooting in 2021. The photo posted by Nusraat shows her wearing a white saree with a veil on her head, having golden jewelry and a red rose in her hand. She wrote in the caption, “On her wedding.” How was the experience of playing the role? In an interview with Anandabazar Patrika, Nusraat said, “I had a wonderful journey. Everyone worked hard. It feels good to see the film getting released.” She did not believe it when she was offered the role. “After the confirmation, I felt like I was the most fortunate person in my country. No one played her role on screen previously. I don’t know if anyone will do it in the future.”
Nusraat further added, “If I never act anymore, still it will be a treasured fact that I played her role.” Hasina knows that Nusraat is playing her character. Did she tell anything to the actress or share any tips? Nusraat smiled, “She told me to be confident and asked me to portray her character in my style.” The film will be released in India on October 27.
