The 2024 musical drama film was helmed by Barry Jenkins and written by Jeff Nathanson. Walt Disney Pictures' photorealistic animated feature The Lion King (2019) is both a prequel and a sequel to the original 1994 animated feature of the same name. From the original, Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner are back, along with Donald Glover, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, and John Kani. Plot summary

James Earl Jones' tribute
