Following the release of 2019’s The Lion King, the live-action film Mufasa: The Lion King is all set to hit the big screens on December 20. The Tamil version will feature a voice cast, which includes Arjun Das as Mufasa, Ashok Selvan as Taka, Robo Shankar and Singam Puli as Pumbaa and Timon respectively, VTV Ganesh as the younger version of Rafiki and M. Nasser joining the team as the voice of Kiros.
Actor Arjun Das will be lending his voice to the role of Mufasa in the Tamil version of Mufasa: The Lion King. Speaking about the opportunity, the actor shared in a statement, "It was an exciting moment when I got a call from Disney. I grew up watching The Lion King. When this happened, I was irresistibly happy."

The actor also shared how he prepped up for the role, which was very naturally evolving. "There was no specific preparation; my voice performance was totally based on the emotional relevance of the character and the situation."
Directed by Barry Jenkins, Mufasa: The Lion King is all set to roar on the big screens on December 20. “Mufasa: The Lion King” enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands, introducing an orphaned cub called Mufasa, a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline—and their expansive journey alongside an extraordinary group of misfits,” reads the synopsis of the film. Lin-Manuel Miranda scored the songs for the film.
Mufasa: The Lion King will release in India in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. Mufasa: The Lion King is produced by Walt Disney Pictures and serves as both the prequel and sequel to the 2019 remake of the 1994 film The Lion King.
