Actor Sivakarthikeyan appears to have gone the extra mile in undergoing a physical transformation to portray an Indian army soldier in his upcoming movie, tentatively titled SK 21. The filmmakers previously released a promo video, offering a glimpse into the rigorous training Sivakarthikeyan underwent to prepare for his role as a soldier.
In addition to mastering the handling of guns of various shapes and sizes, he also had to make a significant change to his fitness. His gym trainer, Sandeep, expressed confidence that Sivakarthikeyan would serve as an inspiration for the younger generation to prioritize their fitness. Sandeep, in an interview, mentioned how Tamil superstar Suriya's physical transformation in Vaaranam Aayiram inspired him in 2008 when he was in the 10th grade, leading him to pursue a career in fitness training.
"I know for a fact that Sivakarthikeyan is going to be an inspiration for today's generation," he said.

Sandeep also disclosed that the initiation of Sivakarthikeyan into his fitness journey was not easy, considering he had never trained with weights. However, once he overcame the initial challenges, he fully committed to his fitness and diet, maintaining consistency even during the shooting of other movies.
"Sivakarthikeyan is not going to be the actor you saw in the last 20 movies. He is going to be entirely different," Sandeep added.
The transformed physique of Sivakarthikeyan is anticipated to be unveiled in the movie's first look poster, along with the official title, with the announcement expected soon.
Earlier speculations suggested that SK 21 is based on the non-fiction book India’s Most Fearless: True Stories Of Modern Military Heroes. Reports indicated that the film would dramatize the real-life challenges faced by the Indian armed forces, including the 2016 Surgical Strike. Sandeep recently revealed that the film is, in fact, a biopic, although he refrained from sharing further details about the project.
SK 21 is directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy and produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films Internationals. The film also features Sai Pallavi, Rahul Bose, and Lallu in pivotal roles.
