Actor Mirchi Shiva-starrer Tamil film Sumo has been in the can for some time now. The film, which was announced several years ago, is yet to see the light of the day. Recently the makers of the film announced that the film is all set to release in theatres in October. An official announcement of the release date is yet to be announced.
Mirchi Shiva’s Sumo gets release date
Sumo is an upcoming Tamil film which was announced a few years back. The film stars Mirchi Shiva and Priya Anand in the lead roles. Now, recently, the makers of Sumo announced that the film is all set to hit theatres in October. An official release date is yet to be announced.
Sumo is helmed by SP Hosimin, who previously made Bharath's February 14 and Aayiram Vilakku featuring Shanthanu Bhagyaraj. Sumo is bankrolled by Ishari K Ganesh's Vels Film International. Besides Shiva and Priya Anand who have worked together in films like Vanakkam Chennai and Kasethan Kadavulada, the upcoming film also stars Yoshinori Tashiro, VTV Ganesh, Chetan, Besant Ravi, Srinath, Yogi Babu and others.
The technical crew of Sumo includes, music by Nivas K. Prasanna and Rajiv Menon cranking the camera. Praveen KL has handled the edits. Sumo is touted to be a comedy entertainer and will revolve around a sumo who has low IQ level and gets washed up at a beach shore in Chennai.
Where to watch Shiva’s latest film Kasethan Kadavulada
Mirchi Shiva was last seen in the 2023 heist comedy film Kasethan Kadavulada, which is a remake of the 1972 film by the same name. It is available for streaming on SunNXT and OTTplay Premium app.

The film features Shiva, Priya Anand, Yogi Babu, Urvashi, Karunakaran, Sivaangi Krishnakumar, Pugazh, Thalaivaasal Vijay and Manobala among others. It revolves around a man who pairs up with his friend and cousin to steal money from his stingy family member, by employing a fake godman.
