After an illustrious cricket career, former Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni has embarked on a new journey as a film producer. His maiden production venture, LGM (short for 'Lets Get Married'), hit the silver screens on Friday, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Dhoni's life.

Speaking at the movie's pre-release event, Dhoni revealed the reasons behind his decision to begin his stint as a producer with a Tamil movie. "I do believe in destiny. My test debut happened in Chennai. My highest test score happened in Chennai. When it comes to cricket, there are lots of things that happened that I am proud of, which actually happened in Chennai," he said, reminiscing about his connection with Tamil Nadu.

Dhoni expressed his gratitude towards the people of Tamil Nadu, who embraced him during the initial days of the Indian Premier League (IPL). "Not to forget, when the IPL started in 2004, I got adopted by Tamil Nadu. The unconditional love and affection that the fans have shown is unbelievable," he added.

The idea to venture into film production was revealed to Dhoni by his wife Sakshi. Acknowledging the brilliance of the movie's cast, Dhoni praised Nadhiya, stating, "When you watch the movie, you will realize that she has spoken a lot through her eyes and expressions."

Dhoni also engaged in some light-hearted banter with actor Yogi Babu, who plays a significant role in the film. He jokingly offered Babu a spot in Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the IPL team Dhoni captained, but humorously noted that the busy actor's schedule might be a hindrance.

Describing LGM as a clean movie suitable for family viewing, Dhoni mentioned how he could enjoy the film with his eight-year-old daughter, who often curiously asks many questions. The movie's dialogue, "I have an idea," resonated with him as it humorously portrays the dynamics between husbands and wives.

Directed by Ramesh Tamilmani, LGM is a romantic comedy starring Harish Kalyan, Ivana, Nadhiya, and Yogi Babu. Sakshi Dhoni has also been credited as one of the writers of the movie.
