Mr. & Mrs. Smith is going to be rebooted for a series this time, starring Donald Glover and Maya Erskine in the titular roles of John and Jane Smith, hired top-notch spies in an arranged marriage with a few twists. Created by Francesca Sloane and Glover himself, Mr. & Mrs. Smith is a rom com with an action-packed coating.
The series features a massive barrage of executive producers, clocking at nine, including Donald Glover and his brother Stephen, Hiro Murai, who also directed two episodes, and Nate Matteson of The Bear. Mr. & Mrs. Smith will be released on February 2, 2024, on Prime Video. The series released its teaser trailer on December 7, 2023, while its official trailer was shared on January 11, 2024 .
This new adaptation of Mr. & Mrs. Smith follows two lonely strangers, essayed by Erskine and Glover respectively, as they land a job working at a prestigious spy agency. However, their dreamy offer of wealth, espionage, international travel, and a lovely brownstone home in Manhattan comes with a weekly chance of regular high-risk missions.
And if that’s not scary enough, then imagine getting married to a stranger for the rest of your normal, suburban existence. As John and Jane’s increasingly complex cover story of being boring ‘computer software programmers’ comes apart, loyalties are tested, and hearts fall prey to love and intimacy like never before.

The trailer offers a cursory peek at the plot which takes a refreshing path following the first-time spies John and Jane handle missions with initial awkwardness and growing confidence. And just as they are beginning to get the hang of their lives and get through couple’s counselling, their lives become debacles of espionage adventures like never before.
Other than Donald Glover and Maya Erskine, the series is also going to star Alexander Skarsgård, Úrsula Corberó, Michaela Coel, Paul Dano, Ron Perlman, and Sarah Paulson, among many others in this iconic espionage romantic thriller which promises a finer balance of humor, romance, and action than its popular 2005 movie predecessor.
