Moumi Roy started her career in Indian television in 2006 and rose to fame in no time. After her successful stint in mega serials like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Naagin, and others, she stepped into Bollywood alongside Akshay Kumar in Gold directed by Reema Kagti in 2018. With the success of Brahmastra, the actress paid a visit to her home state, Bengal. Besides appearing in a number of commercials, she also took part in a reality show as a celebrity judge.

After Mouni visits Kolkata, speculation over her debut in the Bengali film industry is in full swing. Several media reports claimed that the actress will soon appear in a Bengali film. Meanwhile, talks are on between Mouni and the production team of Ankush’s Mirza on her appearance in a song in the action-packed films. While the discussion is still in progress, the actress has not confirmed anything about the project.

Mirza is also the debut of Ankush as a producer. In a recent event in the city, the actor also announced the villain of the film, Dibyendu Bhattacharya. In the gangster film, he will be seen as Sultan – the badman, while Ankush will be seen in the titular role. In a recent interview with OTTplay, the actor confirmed that it will be a hardcore commercial action film. While elaborating on the lack of action films in Bengal, he said that the audience is there. “We have failed to make a hardcore action-packed commercial film that will match the industry standard. With the popularity of Pusha and KGF, it is established that viewers love such films. When such films came here in Bengal, our viewers queued up to watch those films. So no point in claiming that there is no market for such films. Audiences don’t discriminate between action, drama, and thriller. If you give them a good film they will watch it,” said the actor.
