Mothers’ Instinct Trailer - Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway project the darker side of maternal love

Wow! Absolutely fantastic! This is the initial response from fans all over the world after the official trailer for Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway’s upcoming movie dropped on YouTube. Fans are swooning over the two Academy Award winners teaming up for Benoit Delhomme’s upcoming psychological thriller, Mothers' Instinct.

Studio Canal UK dropped the intriguing trailer for Mothers’ Instinct, featuring Oscar-winning actresses Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway leading the cast. In the 2:17-minute trailer, we see two best friends and next-door neighbours, Alice and Céline’s world, turning down after an unfortunate incident of paranoia shatters every relationship. It gives a glimpse of the 1960s lifestyle when two suburban families were living peaceful and harmonic lives with their children. When a child falls off the terrace and her best friend, who was a witness to the crime, can't save him because of her underlying paranoia and fear.

The mother who lost her child seems peculiar when she doesn't follow the usual grief but adjusts to life. The other friend notices this and starts blurring the line between reality and fantasy.

The intense trailer piqued the interest of the viewers as we eagerly wait to watch Anne Hathaway play the role of a twisted and vengeful mother. Also, the designer costumes to correlate with the 60s time period is commendable. It would definitely be an interesting watch to witness the sisterly bond shattered with a family tragedy. 

Cast

Anne Hathaway plays the role of an intense mother whose grief takes a sinister turn after losing her child. Jessica Chastain plays the role of a paranoid mother and best friend whose fear begins the slow war between friendship and family. The celebrated cinematographer Benoit Delhomme is stepping into the shoes of a director for the first time in this eye-grabbing film. However, there is no official confirmation about the release date.
