Brooke Shields and Miranda Cosgrove are set to lead a hilarious cast in Netflix's upcoming rom-com, Mother of the Bride.

The trailer for the upcoming Netflix film, Mother of the Bride, is out. Robin Bernheim, the writer of the Princess Switch trilogy, wrote the romantic comedy film, while Mark Waters, known for He's All That, Mean Girls, and Freaky Friday, directed it. In the film, Brooke Shields will soon find out how every wedding is a social minefield and how she has to decide who sits where when her daughter marries her ex's son. She is one of several A-list wedding attendants in this hilarious slapstick comedy.
The trailer for Mother of the Bride gives a glimpse of Emma (Miranda Cosgrove), Lana's (Shields) daughter, coming from her overseas trip and announcing her engagement. To get married in the land of Thailand in a month. The situation becomes even more complicated when Lana finds out that the man who won Emma's heart is actually the son of the man who betrayed her in the past.

According to Cosgrove, who spoke to People, her really strong relationship with her mother definitely played into her approach to the interplay between Emma and Lana because she had a lot to work with. The actor further shared that, but also that Brooke's just really warm and loving, and she's kind of the type of person that, even if one has only talked to her for an hour, they feel like they have known her a long time, while also calling the veteran actor "really warm."
The film's production was finalised by Netflix in February 2023. By April 2023, with the ensemble fully assembled, filming had begun on site in Thailand. The US observes Mother's Day on the second Sunday of May, which falls on May 12 in 2024, leading to the anticipation of a film release date.
Mother of the Bride will make its Netflix debut on May 9, 2024.
