Mother of the Bride has a hilarious plot premise, that gets funnier and quirkier by the minute as the story progresses. The film follows a multigenerational drama featuring Miranda Cosgrove’s Emma and Brooke Shields’ Lana, the former’s mother. When Emma returned home from a year abroad in London, an overjoyed Lana awaited her daughter’s return.
But all the happiness turned into mush when her daughter revealed that she was getting married! That too next month itself. And if that’s not enough, she will be getting married on an exotic island away from home.
When Lana gets to know that the mystery man Emma is marrying is none other than her ex-Will’s son Lucas, her wits are scattered in this modern comedy of errors. Will had broken her heart years ago, but will Lana be able to protect her daughter’s heart? Will it end up wedging a thorn between mother and daughter, or will it lead to the fulfillment of more than one love story? The answers to all the questions shall arrive this May on Netflix.
Mother of the Bride features a stellar ensemble cast, comprising the likes of Brooke Shields as Lana, Miranda Cosgrove as Emma, Benjamin Bratt as Will, Chad Michael Murray as Lucas, Rachael Harris as Janice, Sean Teale as Rj, Wilson Cruz as Scott, Michael McDonald as Clay, Tasneem Roc as Camala, and Dalip Sondhi as Harley.
