Emergency (Theater)
Release date: January 17
After getting clearance from the Censor board, Emergency is now all set to release in theatres on January 17, 2025. Written and directed by Kangana Ranaut, Emergency focuses on the life and times of India's first female Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. The film also features Anupam Kher in a key role. The film was initially slated to release on September 6 this year. However, the film ran into controversy after several Sikh groups complained that it portrayed their community in a bad light.
Paatal Lok Season 2 (Amazon Prime Video)
Release Date: Reportedly in January
As per several reports, Paatal Lok Season 2 will arrive on Prime Video in January 2025. Some reports also suggest that it might arrive by the end of December 2024. However, official confirmation is yet to be released. A few days ago, the makers announced that Paatal Lok is returning with its much-awaited season 2. As per the teaser, Jaideep Ahlawat’s Hathiram Chaudhary faces a spine-tingling new challenge in season 2.
The Roshans (Netflix)
Release date: January 17
Netflix announced a docu-series on the journey and legacy of the Roshan Family - Roshan Lal, Rajesh Roshan, Rakesh Roshan, and Hrithik Roshan. The series traces the multi-generational journey of the Roshans, highlighting their extraordinary contribution to Indian cinema. Announcing the release date, the streaming platform captioned the post, "Lights, camera, family! Dive into the world of The Roshans through music, movies, and a bond that defines legacy. Watch The Roshans, arriving on 17 January, only on Netflix."
Deva (Theater)
Release date: January 31
Shahid Kapoor starrer Deva is expected to explore a blend of action, drama, and emotion. Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films' action thriller is directed by the famous Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrews. The film also stars Pooja Hegde. Shahid will be seen in a dashing look with his rough and tough avatar.
Sky Force (Theater)
Release date: January 24 (reportedly)
Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani-directed Sky Force features Akshay Kumar in the lead role. As per an ETimes report, the film is based on the 1965 Pakistani Sargodha attack. Back in 1965, Indian and Pakistani Air Forces came into confrontation, where on 6th September, Pakistani forces attacked Indian air bases in Pathankot. The film will focus on India’s retaliation attack on the Pakistani Airbase on Sargodha.
Azaad (Theater)
Release date: January 17
Azaad, starring Rasha Thadani and Aaman Devgn, is scheduled for release on January 17, 2025. The film is a period drama set in the pre-Independence era and is about a family's bond with horses. It also stars Ajay Devgn, Diana Penty, Piyush Mishra, Jiya Amin, Dylan Jones, and Mohit Malik. Abhishek Kapoor is directing the film.
