We had earlier reported that a sequel for the 2020 Tamil fantasy comedy film Mookuthi Amman is in the making with Nayanthara once again set to headline the project. Now, reports suggest that talks are on with directors like Hari, Sundar C and Vikram Kumar to helm the project.

Mookuthi Amman 2 is officially happening and actor Nayanthara is set to headline the film. While the makers had made an official announcement on the same a few weeks back, the team had not revealed the director of the film. It is to be noted that actor and filmmaker RJ Balaji who helmed the first part will not return to the director's chair.

However, as per new speculations, it is suggested that talks are on with some of the known commercial filmmakers. The team of Mookuthi Amman 2 is in talks with directors Sundar C, Hari and Vikram Kumar for the sequel. However, an official announcement on the same is yet to be made. It is to be noted that if the news is indeed true, it will mark Nayanthara’s first collaboration with these directors, and will be a fresh combination to look forward to.

Vels Film International, the production banner which backed the 2020 film, will be reprising their roles as producer for Mookuthi Amman 2 as well.

Where to watch Mookuthi Amman?

The film can be streamed online on Disney+ Hotstar. Mookuthi Amman is a fantasy comedy film, and premiered directly on the platform for Diwali 2020. Besides Nayanthara, the film also stars actors Urvashi, Smruthi Venkat, Madhu Mailankody, Abinaya, Moulee and Ajay Ghosh, and others in prominent roles.

Mookuthi Amman revolves around a news anchor, who with the help of the titular goddess, tries to expose a fake godman. Nayanthara played the titular goddess who comes to earth and battles the evil, a concept and genre by itself which was popular in Tamil cinema in the 90s.
