Month of Madhu, the relationship drama starring Naveen Chandra, Swathi Reddy, Shreya Navile, that released on October 6, arrived during a packed weekend and put up a good show in theatres despite stiff competition throughout the month. Directed by Srikanth Nagothi, the film was produced by Yaswanth Mulukutla under Krishiv Production and Handpicked Stories. The film released on OTT this Friday.
The drama released on aha nearly four weeks after its theatrical release. While the cast and crew expressed their displeasure over media’s response to the film, good word-of-mouth eventually helped its cause. Upon its release on OTT, Month of Madhu seems to be finally getting its due from audiences, who’ve already hailed it as ‘the best Telugu film of 2023’, appreciating the writing, execution and performances.

Viewers praised Srikanth Nagothi for his matured understanding of relationships, its complexities and his ability to extract great performances from a relatively young lineup. Achu Rajamani’s background score too has attracted a section of viewers. Besides the story, Month of Madhu particularly makes an impact with its innovative narrative style, drawing a contrast between the lives of multiple characters.
The film goes back and forth between two timelines, while offering glimpses into the past of Madhusudan Rao and Lekha, how their romance couldn’t translate into a happy marriage besides portraying the colourful love life of Madhumitha. Through the characters, Month of Madhu addresses aspects like parenting, throwing light into the life of NRIs, self love, physical desire, divorce and more.
Viva Varsha, Manjula Ghattamaneni, Raja Chembolu, Gnaneswari Kandregula, Raja Ravindra, Rudra Raghav, Ruchita Sadineni, Mourya Siddavaram, Kancherapalem Kishore essayed other key roles in the film. Krishna and his Leela, Kshanam maker Ravikanth Perepu edited the film which had cinematography by Rajeev Dharavath. Chandramouli Eathalapaka is the art director.
