It is safe to say that South Korean content has been dominating the streaming space in recent times. With the impeccable storytelling, high production value, and stellar casts, K-dramas and movies are taking the standard up by a notch with every new release.
Squid Game was a surprise hit, one of the biggest South Korean shows that Netflix launched. According to a press release, the survival drama was viewed across 94 territories and 95 percent of viewership came from outside of Korea.
Following the success of Squid Game, Hellbound, from Yeon Sang-ho (the director of Train to Busan) was released and clocked in 43.48 million viewing hours. After this came The Silent Sea, an adventure drama set in space, which made it to the number one spot on the weekly non-English Top 10 lists for its premiere.
Just this month, Don Kang, Netflix Korea’s Vice President of Content, had shared the streamer's intention to continue investing heavily in Korean content this year.

Netflix recently announced the title of the highly-anticipated Korean adaptation of the Spanish crime thriller series La Casa de Papel. Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area will follow a genius strategist Professor (Yoo Ji-tae) and his talented crew as they attempt to pull a heist in the Korean Peninsula.
Berlin (Park Hae-soo); Tokyo (Jun Jong-seo); Moscow (Lee Won-jong); Denver (Kim Ji-hun); Nairobi (Jang Yoon-ju); Rio (Lee Hyun-woo); Helsinki (Kim Ji-hoon); and Oslo (Lee Kyu-ho) are the rest of the cast.
Here is the official logline provided by Netflix: "A group of students trapped in a high school and find themselves in dire situations as they seek to be rescued from a zombie invasion of their school." The cast includes Park Ji-hoo, Yoon Chan-young, Jo Yi-hyun, Lomon, and Yoo In-soo.
All of Us Are Dead releases on January 28.
"Juvenile Justice deals with a judge who dislikes juvenile delinquents, later realising the troubles children face in society and how society is circumventing them to become better people," according to a press release. Kim Hye-soo plays Sim Eun-seok, the newly appointed judge with unorthodox ideas, and who tries to instill the belief that society also plays a major role in shaping a juvenile.
The show follows two youths as they toe the line between "heart-fluttering first love and a heart-warming friendship." The cast includes Kim Tae-ri, Nam Joo-hyuk, Kim Ji Yeon, Choi Hyun Wook, Lee Ju Myung.
Jung Jeehyun is the director, while Kwon Doe-un is the writer of the show. Twenty Five, Twenty One will launch on February 12, followed by two episodes every weekend.
Forecasting Love and Weather is a romance drama set in the Korea Meteorological Administration where Jin Ha-kyung, who decides never to date a colleague after a bad break-up. However, he falls into a relationship with a newcomer Lee Si-woo. The cast includes Park Min Young, Song Kang, Yoon Bak, and Yura.
The show will premiere on February 12.
Netflix describes the show as "a down-to-earth life and romance drama that touches deep into the friendship, love and life of three friends who are about to turn forty." Son Ye-jin, Jeon Mi-do, Kim Ji-hyun make up the cast. The show launches on February 16.
Tomorrow depicts how an unemployed youth accidentally bumps into grim reapers on a special mission, only to become a contract worker for them. Kim Hee-seon, Rowoon, Lee Soo-hyuk star in the 16-episode series.
Ahn Hyo-Seop, Kim Se Jeong, Seol In A, Kim Min Gue, Lee Duck Hwa star in this adaptation of the eponymous webtoon. Shin Ha-ri (played by Kim Se Jeong) goes on a blind date upon her friend's insistence only to discover that her date is the CEO of her company.
Based on the popular webtoon Annarasumanara, the show will follow a young girl Yoon Ah-yi, a girl who had to grow up too fast, and Rieul, a mysterious magician who — although grown up — wants to remain a kid. The Sound of Magic comes from director Kim Sung-youn, who has helmed Itaewon Class.
Touted as a satire of Korean society, the show is set in an exclusive matchmaking agency, whose services are availed by the elite looking to upgrade their status by marrying into an elite family. Kim Hee-Seon, Lee Hyun-Wook, Jung Eugene, Park Hoon, Cha Ji-Yeon star.
The show follows what happens when a regular family has a brush in with an illegal drug organisation. Jung Woo, Park Hee-soon, Yoon Jin-seo, Park Ji-yeon make up the cast.
Glitch tells the story of Hong Jihyo, who attempts to track down her missing boyfriend with the help of members of a UFO club. In the process, she comes face to face with a mysterious secret.
Based on real-life events, the story is about an ordinary entrepreneur who has no choice but to risk his life by joining a secret government mission to capture a Korean drug lord. The Accidental Narco marks Director Yoon Jong-bin’s first foray into a series format and first collaboration with Netflix. The cast includes Ha Jung-woo, Hwang Jung-min, Park Hae-soo, Jo Woo-jin, Yoo Yeon-seok, and Chang Chen.
The Fabulous will explore the dreams, love, and friendship of young people who have devote their lives to working in the highly-competitive fashion industry.
Love to Hate You is about the war-like relationship between a woman who hates losing to men, and a man frantically suspicious of women who later discover life remedies behind their opposite characteristics.
A murder case revolves around the social dating app - Somebody, triggering a developer of the app, and her friends to entangle in inexplicable issues surrounding a mysterious figure named Yoon-oh. The drama marks director Jung Ji-woo maiden series and collaboration with Netflix. Kim Young-kwang, Kang Hae-lim, Kim Yong-ji, and Kim Su-yeon form the cast.
Black Knight illustrates an air polluted world in 2071, where people depend on respirator masks to breathe. Only one percent of the human race has survived, and a strict social stratification has been established in the deserted lands of the Korean Peninsula. Delivery drivers play a crucial role within this system, and for refugees, becoming a delivery driver is their only hope for survival. Amid desolation, Black Knight tells the story of a legendary delivery driver 5-8 with exceptional battle skills and refugee Sawol who dreams of following in his footsteps.
The logline of the film: "Ji-hoo, a perfect man with a unique sexual taste, and Ji-woo, a cold woman who found out his secret. A thrilling taste-respecting romance that began with a three-month contract." Love and Leashes, starring Seo Hyun, Lee Jun-Young, EL, will premiere on February 11.

The film marks director Na Hyun's comeback after Prison. Sul Kyung-gu plays Yaksha while Park Hae-soo of Squid Game-fame plays prosecutor Ji-hoon.
