Mombian - Gul and Sakshi Ki Pyaaari Si Love Story: EORTV to release its original queer love story series

The LGBTQ+ focused digital platform EORTV is gearing up to release its third original. Titled Mombian - Gul and Sakshi Ki Pyaaari Si Love Story, the series revolves around two women battling for their relationship.

Starring Riya Deepsi and Ankita Sahu, the series is helmed by Deepak Pandey. According to a press release, the series is going to be an intense watch as it explores the queer struggles. 

Centering around a woman who decides to welcome motherhood, the series features her same-sex partner supporting her unconditionally. Despite the societal troubles and heartbreaks, the duo could be seen fighting for themselves holding up the slogan ‘all is fair in love’. The theme is clear from the trailer, which features the lead actresses and gives a sneak peek into their lives. 

Lead actress Riya issued a statement saying she is all happy to be a part of the sensitive yet relevant story. She seems to be inspired by the story of how women prepare for motherhood together. She said she was excited to take up the role and can’t wait to showcase it before the audience.

Meanwhile, actress Ankita said the project is close to her heart, and the team she worked with was nothing but fabulous. She found the crew very forthcoming and helpful throughout the journey, and is looking forward to presenting their show to the public.

Adding to their bits, the director spoke about how we lack in exploring same-sex relationships on Indian screens. He thinks beyond being sensitive, it is a complex subject to deal with as the country doesn’t give us many examples to draw references from. 

The series will also feature actors like Sanjay Gurbaxani, Sweta Dadich, Aparna Ghoshal, Shobhit Attray, Sandhya Kute and Mayur Mehta. Backed by Dreamzz Images Studio, part 1 of Mombian will premiere on EORTV’s YouTube page on December 18.
