Malaikottai Vaaliban, the highly anticipated period fantasy drama, is set to hit the big screens as the first big release from Malayalam in 2024. Mohanlal is playing the titular character in the highly anticipated project, which is helmed by the acclaimed filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery. Ahead of the massive release, the makers are set to release the much-awaited Malaikottai Vaaliban trailer in a couple of days. Meanwhile, the movie has completed its censor board formalities.

Malaikottai Vaaliban bags a U/A certificate from censor board

As per the recent updates, the big-budget venture has finally completed its censorship formalities. Reportedly, the Mohanlal starrer has bagged a U/A certificate from the censor board. So now, it is safe to assume that the highly anticipated period fantasy film has some high-voltage action sequences, along with other moderately mature content. However, the team has not revealed any glimpses of the film’s larger-than-life action sequences so far.

Malaikottai Vaaliban Malayalam version duration revealed

According to the reports, the Malayalam version of the Lijo Jose Pellissery directorial has a duration of over 2 hours and 30 minutes after it completes the censorship formalities. As reported earlier, the Malayalam version of the project reportedly has a longer duration compared to the Hindi version of the film. If the reports are to be believed, the Hindi version of the period fantasy film just has a running time of 2 hours and 7 minutes. Mohanlal fans and cinegoers are now intrigued by the difference in durations in the different versions of the film.

The period fantasy film to be released in two parts?

According to the rumour mills, the highly anticipated film is set to release in two parts, much like some of the most popular Indian films of recent times. However, both leading man Mohanlal and director Lijo Jose have not officially confirmed these reports yet. Meanwhile, other unconfirmed reports suggest that the actor-director duo is not teaming up for the second part of the film but is reuniting for another film. More updates on the same are expected to be out soon.
