Mohanlal kickstarted a new phase in his acting career with the massive success of Neru, the 2023-released courtroom drama. The Malayalam superstar is reportedly planning to team up with both young talents and senior filmmakers for his upcoming projects. As per the recent updates, Mohanlal is now all set to team up with Tharun Moorthy, the director who helmed Operation Java and Saudi Vellakka, for his 360th outing in films, which has been tentatively titled L360.
Mohanlal teams up with Tharun Moorthy for L360
Recently, popular Malayalam production banner Rejaputhra Visual Media, which is headed by M Renjith, took to their official social media handles and made a major announcement on Mohanlal’s 360th outing. “Unveiling our next film. More updates on the way! #L360 #Loading,” reads the social media post of M Renjith’s production banner. The new update came out as a big surprise for the Malayalam cine-goers, who were hoping for Mohanlal to team up with the young talents in the industry.
Mohanlal and Tharun Moorthy to revive Benz Vasu?
For the uninitiated, Mohanlal and Tharun Moorthy were originally supposed to join hands for a project titled Benz Vasu. The movie, which was touted to be a commercial entertainer, was said to be a remake of the 1980-released Malayalam film which featured legendary actor Jayan in the lead role. However, the project was reportedly dropped later due to undisclosed issues. Now, sources close to L360 suggest that the actor-director duo is teaming up for a fresh subject and has no plans to revive Benz Vasu.
Mohanlal’s upcoming films
The crowdpuller of Malayalam cinema has a massive line-up of upcoming projects in the pipeline. Mohanlal is now busy with the shooting of L2: Empuraan, the upcoming sequel to the 2019-released blockbuster Lucifer. The movie marks the superstar’s third collaboration with actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran. Later, the veteran actor will reunite with senior filmmaker Joshiy for the upcoming action thriller Rambaan.
Recently, director Sathyan Anthikad confirmed that he is teaming with Mohanlal soon for a family entertainer. The superstar is also joining hands with the director’s son Anoop Sathyan, for a project. It was also reported that Mohanlal and Nivin Pauly are set to play the lead roles in actor-director Vineeth Sreenivasan’s next directorial venture. Therefore, it is safe to assume that exciting updates are on the way for the fans of the veteran actor, and the cine-goers.
