The Malayalam-Telugu movie is expected to be shot in 2023 and set for a 2024 release

Malayalam superstar has signed a big budget multilingual film titled Vrushabha, which will be directed by Nanda Kishore. The movie, which will be shot in Malayalam and Telugu and dubbed in other languages, will also have a Telugu star.
The actor announced the movie in an interview with Gulf News, saying that it will be a “visual treat” that will be high on emotions and action. Vrushabha, which will be produced by AVS Studios, is a father-son drama with Mohanlal playing the elder role will a Telugu star will be roped in to essay his son. The film’s story will span generations.
The superstar said that he has been getting a lot of offers from Hindi and Telugu, but has been on the lookout for a unique script to take the plunge. Vrushabha appealed to him and the movie will also have battle sequences, which will be shot in wintry conditions. “It’s going to be an epic spectacle,” said Mohanlal.
Vrushabha is expected to go on floors only after Mohanlal completes shooting for Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Lucifer sequel, Empuraan, in 2023. The film will hit theatres in 2024, according to the current plan.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal is next set to leave for the UK to resume shooting for Jeethu Joseph’s action-thriller Ram, which also has Trisha and Indrajith Sukumaran as part of the cast. The actor recently completed shooting for his own directorial Barroz: The Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure and Priyadarshan’s segment in the Netflix anthology based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s stories.
Mohanlal’s next two releases will be Vysakh’s Monster and Shaji Kailas’ Alone. While the former is touted to be an experimental investigative thriller that also features Lakshmi Manchu, Honey Rose and Sudev Nair, Alone is a single-actor film set during the pandemic and features the voices of Prithviraj and Manju Warrier.
