Mohanlal reveals why he never had a dream project; says ‘There are no plans’

Mohanlal, the Malayalam superstar will be next seen in the highly anticipated project Malaikottai Vaaliban. The period fantasy drama, which is helmed by renowned filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery, is now winning the internet with its highly promising official trailer which was released yesterday (January 18, 2024). From the trailer, it is evident that the veteran actor is set to reinvent himself as an actor with the movie. Expectations are riding high on the film, which marks the superstar’s first collaboration with director Lijo.

Meanwhile, Mohanlal and the cast and crew members of the film are busy promoting the project. In a recent interview with Movie World Media, the multiple National award-winner opened up about his illustrious career, and revealed why he never had a dream project.

Mohanlal reveals why he never had a dream project

The Malayalam superstar, who is all excited about Malaikottai Vaaliban, admitted that he is set to appear in a never-seen-before avatar in the film. However, when he was asked if he ever had a dream project or role, Mohanlal had a funny yet interesting reply. According to the veteran actor, he never really had a career plan, all these years. Mohanlal stated that it is impossible for an actor to plan and decide that this is the next project they want to do.

The senior actor pointed out that he never decided to do a project like Malaikottan Vaaliban ever, but it happened organically. Mohanlal stated that every film of his illustrious career materialised similarly. Interestingly, the superstar stated that acting is the only job he knows and wants to take forward his career just like that. The superstar, in his signature style, also stated that he doesn’t like to plan things or think too much about the future. Instead, he prefers to be happy and take life as it comes.

Mohanlal’s role in Malaikottai Vaaliban

As reported earlier, Mohanlal is playing the titular character a celebrated warrior who proved himself as a reigning hero across timelines and geographies. His life changes after he meets renowned dancer Rangapattinam Rangarani. He also comes across Chamathakan, a negative force who poses a threat, amid his journeys. The superstar is appearing in a never-seen-before avatar in the Lijo Jose Pellissery directorial, which will hit the theatres in three languages including Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi.
