Director Dijo Jose Antony, who is fresh off the success of his superhit film Jana Gana Mana, could be helming superstar Mohanlal next in a movie that also has Prithviraj Sukumaran associated with it, according to reports.

The movie, which is touted to be a ‘mass’ entertainer, reportedly has Mohanlal in the lead and will be produced by Prithviraj Productions. While the makers are yet to announce the movie officially, rumour mills suggest that Mohanlal has slotted his upcoming dates to two young filmmakers, one of whom is Dijo.

The director, who made his debut with Queen that also had a track titled Nenjinakattu Lalettan, had previously worked with Mohanlal for an advertisement about steel pipes. If the rumours are true, this could be the star’s next project after he completes shooting for Jeethu Joseph’s Ram.

Right now, the actor has to complete one more schedule of his directorial debut Barroz: The Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure in Portugal. Soon after that he is expected to resume work on Jeethu’s Ram, which was stalled due to the pandemic in 2020. The big budget action entertainer, which also has Trisha and Indrajith Sukumaran, is set to begin its next schedule in London by June-July.

Meanwhile, Mohanlal has three upcoming releases lined up. First up will be his third collaboration with Jeethu – 12th Man, which is set to drop on Disney+ Hotstar on May 20. The movie, which also has Unni Mukundan, Sshivada, Leona Lishoy, Anu Mohan, Rahul Madhav, Chandunath and Anusree, is touted to be a mystery drama. The actor is also part of Shaji Kailas’ Alone and Vysakh’s Monster, which are both expected to release on OTT platforms in the coming months.

While Alone is a single-actor movie set during the pandemic, Monster is an experimental investigative thriller that also has Lakshmi Manchu, Sudev Nair and Durga Krishna in supporting roles.
