Malayalam superstars Mohanlal and Manju Warrier have teamed up for some memorable movies in the past including Aaraam Thampuran, and that’s partly the reason the audience love to see the duo together on screen. So, it’s no wonder that right after filmmaker Jis Joy had posted photos of himself with Mohanlal and Manju together, social media began speculating that he is teaming up with the two stars for his film.

Another photo of producer Antony Perumbavoor further strengthened these rumours, with several media reports even stating that the film will be produced by Aashirvad Cinemas, which is currently backing Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph’s courtroom drama Neru.

However, when OTTplay reached out to Jis Joy for confirmation, the director was quick to dismiss these rumours. “The photos were part of an advertisement that I had shot for Onam for a leading phone retailer. People would have assumed that it was a film because I had shared a pic with Antony Perumbavoor too,” he says, adding that he was surprised to get the number of phone calls after the post.

Jis had posted the pics with the caption, “Plan A for three M’s”, referring to Mohanlal, Manju Warrier and MG Sreekumar – all of whom were part of the ad shoot. The filmmaker clarifies he is currently busy with the editing of his thriller featuring Asif Ali and Biju Menon . “The movie will be a November release. We will be announcing the movie’s title soon,” he says.

Mohanlal to begin work on Empuraan next

Meanwhile, Mohanlal, who joined the shoot of Jeethu’s film Neru in Thiruvananthapuram, is expected to wrap up his portions by the end of September and start work on Prithviraj Sukumaran’s much-awaited film Empuraan. He also has another schedule of Vrushabha pending, which is expected to go on floors later this year.
