Mohanlal, Arbaaz Khan-starrer Big Brother’s Hindi dubbed version gets 17 million views in a week

During the pandemic, South Indian content has been consumed by the national audience at large, with few original releases from Bollywood. Over the past month, the Hindi dubbed versions of movies such as Dulquer Salmaan’s Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi have already become a rage online and the latest Malayalam film that has amassed record views is Mohanlal’s Big Brother.

The film, which also features Arbaaz Khan in a pivotal character, has garnered 17 million views within a week of its release on the YouTube channel Sunshine Movies. The channel also released the Hindi dubbed version of Mammootty’s Mamangam last year.

Big Brother, which hit theatres in 2020, had Mohanlal playing Sachi, who comes home to his family after serving a double life sentence and struggles to adjust to his new life. A certain incident forces him to take up arms to protect his family.

Arbaaz Khan played the role of an IPS officer in the film, which marked his Malayalam debut. Filmmaker Siddique, who had earlier helmed Salman Khan’s Bodyguard, has directed Big Brother. The film also has Sarjano Khalid, Honey Rose and Anoop Menon in supporting roles.

This is the highest viewed video of the YouTube channel, which has 1.08 million subscribers. The channel’s next release will also be the Hindi dubbed version of a Malayalam film. Action Hero Biju director’s The Kung Fu Master, which has Neeta Pillai, Jiji Scaria and Sooraj S Kurup in lead roles, is set to release soon on the channel.
