After a gap of over a decade, Narasimham and Aaraam Thampuram duo of director Shaji Kailas and Mohanlal are set to team up for a new movie, which will be produced by Antony Perumbavoor. The last time the duo collaborated was in 2009 for Red Chillies.

The upcoming movie, which is rumoured to go on floors in October, is scripted by Rajesh Jayram. Mohanlal announced the news on his social media page, starting with, "The wait is finally over". Antony, who had produced Mohanlal and Shaji Kailas’s film Alibhai in 2007, also shared the news with a social media post that said he will be teaming up with the duo after a gap of 14 years.

Mohanlal, who recently completed shooting for Prithviraj’s directorial Bro Daddy, is set to join Jeethu Joseph’s 12TH Man in Idukki. The actor is expected to finish the schedule of the movie this month and move on to Shaji Kailas’s film.

The director had last month dropped by the sets of Bro Daddy in Hyderabad. It was assumed that the filmmaker had visited the sets to discuss resuming the shoot of Prithviraj’s Kaduva, which was shooting for before the lockdown earlier this year. However, it now seems that he had discussed the new film with Mohanlal and producer Antony Perumbavoor. Shaji Kailas, meanwhile, could complete the rest of Kaduva this month, with Prithviraj set to join the film after his portions in Alphonse Puthren’s Gold.

Mohanlal and Antony had reportedly signed an OTT deal worth Rs 60 crore for three movies, which will release directly on the streaming platform. It’s believed that Bro Daddy, 12th Man and the upcoming Shaji Kailas film are part of the deal. Antony had also co-produced Mohanlal’s Marakkar: Arabikkadalinte Simham, which will only be a theatrical release. The superstar also has B Unnikrishnan’s Aaraattu awaiting release.
