Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran to wrap up L2 Empuraan on THIS date? Find out

Mohanlal is joining hands with actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran for the third time, for the upcoming project L2 Empuraan. The movie, a sequel to the actor-director duo’s 2019-directed blockbuster Lucifer, started rolling in October 2023. After multiple shooting schedules that spanned over a year, the much-awaited film is reportedly nearing its completion. Reportedly, Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran are planning to wrap up L2 Empuraan by the beginning of December 2, 2024.

According to the latest updates, director Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team wrapped up the pending Mumbai schedule of the film, recently. Now, the cast and crew are set to move to Chalakudy, Kerala, where the next schedule filming will begin in a couple of days. However, leading man Mohanlal, who is currently in Sri Lanka for the Mamootty-Mahesh Narayanan project, will not be a part of the Chalakudy schedule. Later, the team will move to Palakkad, Kerala, for the final schedule of the film.

If things proceed at the same rate, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mohanlal will wrap up the entire filming of the project, on December 2, 2024. Even if there are any changes in plans, the shoot will be wrapped by the first weekend of December. The actor-filmmaker and his team are reportedly planning to kickstart the post-production works of the film in the same month, after a quick break. In that case, we can expect a major update on the film, around Christmas 2024 and the New Year 2025.

All about L2 Empuraan

Mohanlal is all set to reprise his much-loved character Khureshi Abraam in the film, while Prithviraj Sukumaran, Indrajith Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Sai Kumar, Nandu, Baiju Santhosh, Saniya Iyappan, and others will return to play their respective characters from Lucifer. 

Suraj Venjaramooodu, Shine Tom Chacko, and Sharaf U Dheen, and Tamil actor Arjun Das have reportedly joined the project as new cast members. Sujith Vaassudev is the director of photography. Deepak Dev composes the music score. L2 Empuraan is bankrolled by Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions.
