Mohanlal and Lijo Jose Pellissery to reunite soon; Malaikottai Vaaliban 2 on cards?

Mohanlal is all set to step into a new phase in his acting career, after a series of disappointing outings. As reported earlier, the veteran superstar is gearing up to team up with some of the finest talents of Malayalam cinema, for his upcoming projects. If the recent updates are to be believed, Mohanlal is planning to reunite with Malaikottai Vaaliban director Lijo Jose Pellissery, for one of his forthcoming projects.

Mohanlal, Lijo Jose Pellissery to team up soon?

According to the grapevine, Mohanlal is planning to reunite with director Lijo Jose Pellissery, very soon. The actor-director duo, who previously teamed up for the period fantasy drama Malaikottai Vaaliban, is reportedly planning to reunite for a new project in 2025. If things go as planned, Mohanlal and director Lijo Jose Pellissery might make the big announcement, very soon. Some unconfirmed reports suggest that the project might go on floors, by the end of 2025.

Malaikottai Vaaliban 2 on cards?

Earlier, it was speculated that Mohanlal and Lijo Jose Pellissery might reunite for Malaikottai Vaaliban 2, the sequel to their 2023-released period fantasy drama. However, recent updates suggest that the actor-director duo are not planning to team up for the long-awaited project this year. Instead, the Malayalam superstar and acclaimed filmmaker are planning to team up for a fresh subject. More updates on the same are expected to be out soon.

Malaikottai Vaaliban: All you need to know

As you may know, Mohanlal appeared as the titular character, Malaikottai Vaaliban, in the period fantasy drama directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. The movie, which hit the theatres with a massive pre-release, however, failed to impress the common audiences, and ended up as a massive failure at the box office. Along with Mohanlal, Malaikottai Vaaliban featured Sonalee Kulkarni, Hareesh Peradi, Danish Sait, Manikandan R Achari, Manoj Moses, Katha Nandi, and others in the supporting roles.

Madhu Neelakandan handled the cinematography of the Lijo Jose Pellissery directorial. Prashant Pillai composed the songs and the original score. Deepu S Joseph handled the editing. Malaikottai Vaaliban is currently available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar in five languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
