Mohanlal and Amal Neerad to reunite soon: Major announcement on cards?

Mohanlal is stepping into a new phase in his acting career, with some promising projects in the pipeline. The rumors of the legendary superstar’s reunion with cinematographer-filmmaker Amal Neerad have been doing rounds on social media for the last few weeks. Reportedly, the Bheeshma Parvam director has already kickstarted the pre-production of the project. The grapevine suggests that the untitled project will have its official launch, on the special occasion of Aashirvad Cinemas’ silver jubilee celebrations.

If the recent updates are to be believed, Mohanlal and Amal Neerad’s highly anticipated second collaboration is set to have its official launch very soon. According to the grapevine, the filmmaker and his team are now busy with the pre-production of the much-awaited film, which marks the duo’s reunion after a long gap of 16 years. Even though nothing much has been revealed about the project, the rumor mills suggest that it is a stylish action flick.

As per the latest updates, Mohanlal and Amal Neerad might officially announce the project on Saturday, January 18, 2025, during the silver jubilee celebrations of production banner Aashirvad Cinemas. For the uninitiated, producer Antony Perumbavoor and his team are planning to conduct a grand event in Kochi, Kerala, as the prestigious production banner completes 25 years in the business. An official announcement on the same is expected to be out in a few days.

Mohanlal’s upcoming projects

As reported earlier, Mohanlal will be seen next in Thudarum, where the upcoming family entertainer will be directed by Tharun Moorthy. The movie is expected to have its theatrical release on January 30, 2025. Later, the superstar will return to the big screens on March 27, 2025, with the long-awaited Lucifer sequel, L2 Empuraan. The official teaser of the project, helmed by actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran, is expected to be out on January 25, 2025. Mohanlal’s other upcoming projects include the upcoming Mammootty starrer directed by Mahesh Narayanan and Sathyan Anthikad’s Hridaya Poorvam.
