Mohanlal and Aashirvad Cinemas recently took to their official social media handles and announced big plans for 2025, and dropped major updates on Thudarum, Hridaya Poorvam, and more.

Mohanlal is stepping into a brand-new phase in his illustrious career, with a handful of promising projects in his kitty. The superstar is set to take a break from the formula entertainers, to join hands with some of the finest talents of Malayalam cinema. Recently, Mohanlal and Antony Perumbavoor’s production banner Aashirvad Cinemas announced their big plans for 2025. They also dropped major updates on the superstar’s upcoming films, including Thudarum and Hridaya Poorvam.
After the grand theatrical release of his directorial debut Barroz, which is slated to hit the big screens on December 25, 2024, Mohanlal is planning to team up with Aashirvad Cinemas for four more projects. The superstar and his home banner plan to kickstart their journey in 2025 with Thudarum, the upcoming Tharun Moorthy directorial. Later, Mohanlal will reunite with Antony Perumbavoor for Prithviraj Sukumaran’s L2 Empuraan, Sathyan Anthikad’s Hridaya Poorvam, and pan-Indian film Vrushabha.
The recent video released by Mohanlal has confirmed that Thudarum, the upcoming Tharun Moorthy directorial, will hit the theatres on January 30, 2024. The movie, which is produced by Renjith Rejaputhra under the banner Rejaputhra Films, is being distributed by Antony Perumbavoor’s Aashirvad Cinemas, across India. The cast and crew members of Thudarum are expected to officially reveal the release date of Mohanlal’s film, with the first teaser of the film, in a few weeks.
Later, Aashirvad Cinemas will bankroll the upcoming Sathyan Anthikad directorial Hridaya Poorvam, which is slated to go on floors in December 2024. The highly anticipated project, which is touted to be a family drama, is confirmed to hit the theatres on August 28, 2025, ahead of the Onam celebrations of the year. Apart from these major updates, the makers have also confirmed L2 Empuraan’s March release, and distributing Vrushabha, the long-delayed period fantasy drama, which is slated to be released on 16 October 2025.
